Thanks so far Paul, I am happy you told me the 3000 is not completely obsolete. So I will line up the 3000 I got here for B&W . It would be nice to be able to vary the tone however. For that prints how need toning I assume I can use the 2100/2200 straight as it is? When I checked the MIS workflow page again I found that a workflow from your hand for the FS and FSN ink are mentioned. However following that lead to your so called partionated workflow the VM-QUAD-SET is mentioned. Also the curves are for this inkset. Are the curves and workflow you mean in your privet files? Many other workflows are mentioned and the most curves are for the 1160. The UT-FSN is the one I'd favor for that old machine. It can make good display prints. I have some curves for EEM, PhotoRag and Premium Matte (but this was the original, and I don't know what the current version prints like). I see the 3000 as a bit long in the tooth, but for 16 x 20 and matte paper, it's still the most affordable way to get there. In actual practice, I doubt anyone could tell the difference between a 3000 matte 16 x 20 and one done on a 7600.
