Hi Donald, The spacers are peel and stick plastic strips of varying width and thickness. You cut them to length and stick them to the underside of the glass around the edges. 1/4" is a nice width to separate the art from the glass. They come in clear, white, and black and are available from www.frametek.com. These spacers are narrow enough so that they hide under the lip of the frame. The idea for me is to present the print with the signed white paper edge (~1-2") showing and have no mat. I have done this quite successfully with smaller prints (16x20) that have been permanently mounted to gatorfoam. I have also done it with RC prints with black frames, black spacers, and a very thin border of black on the print (no white showing). However, I am interested in doing this with larger 32x40 prints on 300g Entrada without mounting the print, just tacking it the gatorfoam at the top and letting the pressure of spacers on the print edges hold it. My concern is possible paper buckling if the edges of the print are held tight by the spacer all the way around. Cheers, Tom Andrews http://www.wildlandart.com > But I was curious about the statement that a "frame spacer" was used WITHOUT a mat. What is this "frame spacer?" > Donald
