Re: [Digital BW] HP Photosmart 8450

2005-02-25 by Dan Koons

Tom, After reading an article by Ctein on the 7960 (Photo Techniques vol 25,
No.4), I decided to take the plunge for the newer 8450. I have been happy
with it, with the exception that it does not handle large enough paper :).
Printing in gray scale only makes a very neutral print to my eye. I am new
to inkjet printing, so I don't have any other printer to compare it to.
Price per print may be a bit high, and the gray cartidge is tiny for $25.00.
I have been waiting to see about refilling cartridges, if there is a
savings. Dan

I am new to the group so I apologize if this has been asked before. I
am considering the purchase of the HP 8450 so I can do B&W prints
without the expense of a third party ink setup on my Epson 1280. Any
thoughts good, bad or indifferent on the HP8450?

Thanks,

Tom Coelho
