RE: [Digital BW] B/W Film scanning dust removal software??

2005-03-02 by Ken Carney

Well, the issue does come up from time to time, more likely for sheet film
users. It's amazing how a booger will find its way into the film holder on
your best image.

There is a simpler way to spot. Go to filters>noise>dust and scratches, and
apply some setting you'd never use in a finished image, such as a 3-pixel
radius and threshhold of six or so. Save as a snapshot and delete the dust
& scratches state in history. Use a small soft brush in history brush
applied to the snapshot, and with a tablet you can clean up the image in no
time.
