Digital BW, The Print

I meant to ask this in my previous post but forgot.  Do I need to try and
purge the UT2 inks out of my 1280 before taking it in for repair?  Should I
even bother since it's out of warranty anyway (so it doesn't really matter
if I use Epson inks or not?)?
