Every time you make a conversion from one space to another, you 
introduce data loss due to different gamuts and rounding errors.  If 
necessary, and if there is no other good way to achieve my goals, I 
will convert, but if there is a good way to achieve my goal without 
converting, that is usually my first choice.  It is less of an issue 
in 16 bit.  With 8-bit files, I avoid any manipulations that can 
degrade my file.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
