Diane- I understand it would give you a starting point, but would it? What works for Paul may not work for Steve. What I am saying is it may not eliminate a paper you find attrocious; nor, one that you find and love. My suggestion is to get sample packs. Red River, Hawk Mountain, and several others have packs for $15-20 or less. Actually, I have bought two or three of each just to get an adequate number of samples to test in B&W and color without investing.
