The same thing happened to me.  Unfortunately, in my case, the 1280 
died right after an order of MIS ink bottles arrived.

So for the time being I am using the 2200 for everything with Roy 
Harrington's QTR producing b&w prints.  So that the ink shipment would 
not be a complete loss, I am using refillable MIS cartridges for the 
light, photo, and matte blacks.

Life is a little less cluttered with only one printer.
