R800 marks HPR

2005-03-15 by Richard Morton

Greetings,

I'm using an R800 for printing images with large areas of black and
noticing that the printer marks the surface of HPR.

The marks are made by the D shaped pick up roller on the left hand side
(opposite the adjustable paper guide) and are only visible if that area
is black. Unfortunately most of what I'm currently doing are just
that.

My first R800 died prematurely (due to paper feeding problems as it
happens) and it exhibited the same behaviour. I suspect they would all
do it to HPR, though neither of them mark EAM but it's really not
noticeable unless the area is black.

Someone suggested I try feeding sheets into the roll feed slot in the
back but I haven't been able to make that work - can't get the paper in
the right place.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to use sheets in the roll feed
slot or anything else to try?

Thanks & cheers,

Richard Morton
