Hi John, Yes, the firewire connection is unlikely to speed up the printing. You might find it useful to try other options to speed up printing. For resolution there's 1440dpi and 1440super which are 4pass and 8pass respectively. The 8pass is more immune to banding but your printer may do very well with 4pass -- I think many of the Pro printers can. The other thing is the Faster/Better for bi-directional/uni-directional printing -- again try it. In the longer run I am looking at trying to improve the speed in general.
