Actually you are wrong. The data sent to the printer head is not eight bits. It is only one bit. It tells the printer to print a dot or not print a dot. Some RIPs that send this data to the print head do indeed use 12 bits internally. In some printers you can choose from three dot sizes which requires 2 bits. Please know the facts, before posting.
