Unfortunately, HDs aren't simply mechanical devices; they may well still spin in a century (or not - lube gunks up), but it's very unlikely their magnetic content will be intact. Just way too many ways ANY/ALL magnetic records go bad. Don't count on magnetic storage except short term (and if it really matters, pretty damn short). YMMNotV.
