Matt, I use a 4000 for B/W and color with no problem at all. There's really no need to dedicate your 4000 to B/W only. Of course you can with Piezography. I use various approaches including Quadtone RIP, Epson black-only, and narrow gamut profiles from Eric Bullock at http://www.pixelpusherz.net/ All can give excellent results depending on what you are looking for.
