After singing the praises of the 1280 with pigmnet inks for years, I'm now wondering if there is some long term use clogging issues with pigment. Possibly there is some residual pigment build up over time that accentuates clogs. My original 1280 became more and more prone to clogs with pigments as it got older. It still cleaned up and worked well with dye but the pigment probem worsened. I replaced it with a new 1280 and the probelm went away. Now I'm hearing from others that are experiencing the same. Jim Arnold says he now has this problem with his 1280 and is using carts filled with windex to try to clear it. He's getting globs of black pigment breaking loose while printing with Windex. Does any of this match with your experience using the 1280? I agree that most of the problems are with carts and the new 1280 EZ fill carts are great. But this doesn't seem to be a cart related problem. Bob Michaels
