Maybe don't buy the CFS at first, but go for the refillable carts. If there is a problem clog that can not be fixed, within the first year, call Epson to exchange it for a new one. I have a 1280 and it works very well and not temperamental at all. My 1280 got off to a shaky start because of a bad CFS but MIS resolved the problem and have very few clogs.
