Darkroom to Digital (Black and White Photography with Photoshop) by Eddie Ephraums is not a technical manual, but a good supplement to such a manual. The author discusses why to use digital and presents his way of working with it in Photoshop. All his photos used in the book are toned - duotoned or split toned (still considered b&w?). A very personal, intelligent & artful book for me, but perhaps not to everyone' taste. Not expensive in paperback.
