I'll I can tell you is that I've been buying 13" rolls of Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308 gsm for this purpose. With the built-in cutter on my 7600, this is a nice way to go - I can make small proofs, somewhat larger proofs, portfolio prints, and the smallest size in my line all from a 13" roll with little wastage. When I was working in the darkroom, I'd proof on 8x10 inch sheets (cut from 16x20 inch sheets) before I printed something bigger.
