Stephen, I know "media type" means "kind of paper." What I'm trying to find out is what -- if anything -- this setting actually does. The Epson driver changes its ink curves based on the media type setting. But that shouldn't be happening here, since I select the curves I want in the Curves selection box. What -- if anything -- changes in how the QuadTone RIP prints if I select, say, Matte Paper instead of Luster in the Media Type selector in QTR GUI, but don't change curves? > -----Original Message----- > From: Stephen Billard [mailto:stephen@...] > Sent: Thursday, April 07, 2005 11:07 AM > To: DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com > Subject: RE: [Digital BW] QTR Media Type setting > > > The kind of paper. > > -Stephen > www.sbillard.org/Stephen > > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Richard Wolfson [mailto:rw@...] > > Sent: Thursday, April 07, 2005 6:06 AM > > To: DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com > > Subject: [Digital BW] QTR Media Type setting > > > > > > > > In QTR GUI there is a Media panel with two drop-down > > selections: SOURCE and TYPE. > > > > SOURCE selects a paper path if a printer has more than one; it is > > disabled otherwise.
