Are you guys sure of that? I have the refillable cartridges for the 21/2200 and they have foam in the side that feeds the print head. NO problems and I have loaded the cartridges quite a number of times. Also, if there are air bubbles developing it is not the fault of the foam but rather the poppet valve when taking the cartridge out. I find any air bubbles can be removed by turning the cartridge up and giving it a squeeze.
