The Quad Ink Descriptor Files (.qidf) are the "human readable" form of the curve files. Kind like the difference between Source Code and Object Code in computer programming if that means anything to you. There is more information in the .qidf file in some cases, information that is only needed when creating the .quad curve, not when using it for printing. The Ucmk-MBW-Cool.quad file you have did not come from the QuadToneRIP installation. You probably got it from Carl Schofield's WEB site. Last I looked, he wasn't providing the ink descriptor files to go with his quad files. -Stephen www.sbillard.org/Stephen > -----Original Message----- > From: Tom Husband [mailto:thusband@...] > Sent: Friday, April 08, 2005 7:59 PM > To: DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com > Subject: [Digital BW] QTR .quad and .qidf > > > > > In my quad2200 folder in the quadtone folder I have .quad > paper profiles/curves.
