Paul, may I assume you were referring to using a CIS with dye printers? I've had a CIS on my C84 with EZ inks for about 8 months now, and have only had to run one or two cleaning cycles manually in all that time. (In fact, I'm on my second C84, the first one having died after churning out between 1,000 and 2,000 prints. I switched the CIS to the new one and just kept going.) I do turn the printer off when I know it's not going to be used for a few days, but otherwise I just leave it on.
