Hi Steve If I have my models right, the 785 is the card-reader equipped version of the 780, and takes the T007 and T008 carts. If that is the case, it is a cheaper, noisier version of the 870/890, both of which have been used succesfully in the past, though I'm not sure how much support they have right now with either QTR or IJC/OPM. At the very least you can get either empty or pre-filled carts of the Eboni ink and get some good Black-Only (BO) prints at 2880dpi. You might also be able to adapt Paul Roark's workflows for the 1280 & 890 (same printehead) though it's probably a long shot. Your best current headache-free inexpensive approach is probably to leave the 785 for color, and pick up (eBay?) a C-86 for B&W. The ez-B&W inks do a good job, are plug-and-play, and with refillable carts and bulk ink the expense is quite low.
