I've been using the 1280 carts since they were released, with absolutely no problems. I should mention that when I got them, there were no filler-hole plugs, so I've been using silicone, which may be a more secure way of closing the fill port. IOW I suspect many of the problems relate to air leakage through the fill port changing the flow- rate of the cart. Pre-filled carts are obviously easier, but they are much more expensive, and in that color cart wastefull since you never deplete all chambers of ink. I reccommend you give the refilling a try, you can always switch back.
