You can always do it manually--I've found this to be superior to the
auto-stitching software I have tried--and you can do it in 16-bit. I haven't
looked at stitching software in the last year or so--maybe they are better
now.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
