Paul,

Your plan is well thought out.  I would recommend the 2200 as it will 
give you slightly better BO output than the 1280.  Another major 
difference is speed.  The 2200 is much, much faster.  The 1280 is one 
of the best printer for conversion to b/w inks.  But it is showing 
it's age in the speed department.  Additionally, you will be able to 
get very good b/w prints using QTR on the 2200 using just the 
standard Epson inks.
