Hi Myron, QTR is heavily supported in this forum and will give you the results you want with the 4000 and UltraChromes. You can download it from: http://harrington.com/QuadToneRIP.html There is also a QTR Yahoo forum at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/QuadtoneRIP/ It produces excellent results and is shareware -- try before you buy and the price is only $50 which is a far less than its value! Also IJC/OPM has 4000 support -- costs a bit more but the UI is a bit more developed for profiling. It's $250 and you can read more at: http://www.bowhaus.com/services/IJCOPMmain.htm IP is an acceptable solution for basic B&W output from the Ultrachrome ink set -- however, it is a "closed system" to the user and won't grow with you as your expertise increases because you are locked into the IP profiles that you can't really modify to your environment. Plus, it's pretty expensive for what you get. Try QTR because you can download it, install it and be up and running today -- or this evening ;>) That way you don't get too caught up in all the choices out there, can get started printing instead of pondering and may very well find QTR to be your long term solution! Enjoy! Richard --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "Myron Wellan" <mwellan@b...> wrote: > Just purchased an Epson 4000.
