I transfer my CRW files to my hard disc. I have a folder I've called
RAW - I am careful to move or delete these files immediately after
converting them; thus only my latest RAW files are there. I run the
conversion from there.

If you don't have Vuescan, you can get it at www.hamrick.com. There
are two versions. Given that the more expensive one ($90) has
perpetual updates I found it well worth the higher cost- he updates
it, often, a couple or three times a week. See the web
page for other differences and you may agree with me - especially the
capability to calibrate scanner and printer if you have the IT8 file.
Anyway, either version is available for a tryout.

If you download it, I suggest you install my setup file into the
Vuescan folder. It is the setup I've developed for converting my crw
files. Recall, it is not only one way. I'After installing it in your
Vuesczn folder, you load it from the file menu: load setup.I'm sending
it to you as an attachment to your email address.I also suggest you
take time to read the User Guide; it's available under help. Though
extensive, it's well written (almost) and worth the time. You might
even consider printing
it. 

I know that Vuescan can scan a sequence of negatives (e.g., strips of
35mm negatives or slides); I don't know if it can do this for RAW
files  in a single folder. It would be worthwhile exploring that. If
you do one at a time, you can set it, as I have done to open the
result in your image editor. I've set mine to open in Paint Shop Pro.
If you have Photoshop you will want to change that, If you do mmore than
one at a time, leave that field blank or Vuescan will try to open
every image in your viewer which could easily saturate your viewer.
