I got the new R1800 a couple of weeks ago (I like it so far) and decided to convert my venerable 2000P to B/W with the MIS UT FS ink. Installed the carts and the eboni came up OK, but the color replacement showed "red light" and the message that the cartridge wasn't acceptable. Sent a problem report to MIS tech support and they sent me another chip; same result. I pried the chip out of an Epson T016 and put it in the MIS and it now came up, but a nozzle check showed everything clogged in both carts. Ran 7 or 8 cleaning cycles with no improvement. Sent another problem report but no reply after several days. Question #1: Is my chip experience typical, or do most of them work right off? Question #2: Is the clogging typical, and in any case what can be done other than continuing to waste ink with cleaning cycles? Question #3: Is this project doomed or is anyone getting results with this printer/ink combo? Thanks, Dick
