I pried the chip out of an Epson > T016 and put it in the MIS and it now came up, Chip problem frequency seems to be increasing. I don't know why. Of the 2000P chips I received from MIS, I think they were all good. Telling one chip type from another seems to be impossible without checking them in either a printer or equivalent. If someone along the supply chain has mislabeled or mix chips, it's going to be a mess. Keep and label accurately those that work, and have a re-setter. > but a nozzle check > showed everything clogged in both carts. I used mostly pre-loaded UT-FS carts from MIS. They were the old style carts. Are what you're receiving the old ones or the new spongeless carts? Overall, I thought the 2000P made an excellent matte paper printer with UT-FS. I don't know how old or used the one I tried was. If a 2000P has high mileage on it, the MIS inks might have trouble. I'm trying a cleaning solution on a high mileage 7600 before I resort to changing the dampers. The lower viscosity cleaning fluid easily passed through the screens that would not pass UT inks efficiently. I speculate that the screens slowly build up layers of pigs -- OEM or whatever -- and some fluids can get through easier than others. Viscosity is probably one factor, and there are no doubt others. I'm going to see if a few weeks of exposure to the cleaning fluid will break enough off the screens to solve the problem. Paul www.PaulRoark.com
