Without a good printer profile you'll be banging your head against the wall trying to get good prints. Regarding other-than-Piezo RIPS/profiles for BW, I don't believe a RIP and profiles will do the ink separations that are necessary for smooth, dot free, BW printing. Have you considered how you will create your ink separation curves? I'm curious what has you go the RIP route as opposed to just using the Epson driver, which has a pretty nice dither of it's own? Is it so you can script CMYK separation curves, giving you better control over your blacks? Just to be clear, I'm asking to learn, not suggesting I know anything you don't. :-) Todd
