Or pull the Epson chip off, reset it and put it on the MIS cart. I use a little strip of tape to hold the chip in place. Be sure it doesn't fall off. A cart with no chip can wreck the printer. (My 7600 black cart chip became defective also. It happens. Mine was good, was reset, and became no good -- the red light stayed on as if the cart were not loaded. It's actually the first chip reset failure like this I've had in over a year.)
