I just received and installed CS2. The new smartsharpen works very well with my 10D images using default settings, but I'm not completely satisfied with the results with my 4x5 B&W negative scans. I prefer Deadman's sharpeners for the latter (custom sharpener or Fraser sharpener work best for me). I'll play with the smartsharpen settings some more in CS2 and see if I can get better results with the negative scans.
