Coated papers are wonderful for inkjet use, but they will drive a painter right up the wall. Paint doesn't "flow" right, it sort of instantly gets sucked into whatever part of the paper you first touch brush to. It tends to end up too dark, and too sharp edged... And most coated papers will wear out paint brushes very quickly. It's all that clay, silica, etc.
