Just in case anyone who makes digital negs is thinking about this printer: I bought one tonight, and I'm taking it back tomorrow. It does a fine job of color printing, especially with the premium profiles that come with. Until, that is, you look at them with a lupe. I tried every high quality setting combination I could think of but the microbanding persisted. What made it worse is that the glossy pigments don't work well with IJ tranny film. The saturation and contrast are so low I had to crank my VC contrast up all the way, which made the microbanding and the printer 'grain' perfectly obvious to even my tired eyes... All in all, a total distaster, especially since there is no BO option AT ALL, so you can't even take advantage of those tiny dots for that. Steve Karafyllakis
