I use a 4x5 Wacom Graphire tablet with wireless mouse on a dual monitor setup (2560 x 1024 pixels) on a Windows machine. It works fine, and is the only mouse I use. The mouse driver is clever. Slow, deliberate movement of the mouse gives very precise control of the on-screen pointer -- a slow traverse across the tablet moves the pointer about 600 pixels across part of the screen. Quick mouse gestures give bolder moves on screen -- a fast traverse across the tablet sends the pointer the full 2560 pixels from one side of the screen to the other. Phil, assuming the Intuos works the same way, if you stick to using only the Wacom mouse for a while, your brain will reprogram itself and your problem will disappear.
