Thanks Michael. It may well be true that Lyson's staff in the U.S. is small but that's not my problem. As I said in my initial message, I did email their UK head office as well. All they needed to do was respond and tell me 'No, the Daylight Darkroom isn't compatible with the 1280 but some of our other products are and if you view the Lyson Disributors page on our website at <insert link> you'll be able to find a dealer in your area (although apparently there's only one in Canada) who can help you choose the best one for your needs. Thank you.' That would take about 60 seconds to write so a small staff is a poor excuse for poor service. I didn't think that the Daylight Darkroom product was available for the 1280 but then I subsequently read in a reputable publication (Photo Techniques) that it was; hence my motivation to contact them. That said, I've done some more looking at the MIS products and they may fit the bill so thanks to those who recommended them. I've emailed back and forth a couple times today with one of their support staff who's been very helpful and responsive - even telling me I could do something slightly unconventional with the ink set-up which is rare for a manufacturer to do. I still have concerns about print longevity and will have to try to research that some more but I do see that their newer UT2 inkset is variable tone and a dead neutral result is possible. --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "AdventureCam Photo" <email@a...> wrote: > The Daylight Darkroom was designed for the 2200/7600/9600 printers and is > not available for the 1280.
