I'm an HP5+ shooter, but I find HC-110 works very well with this and other 400 speed films, including Tri-X and Neopan 400. The economy and keeping properties are very gook like Rodinal, and the dilutions/agitation alchemy resembles Rodinal modus operandi as well. I've been using dilution H (1:63) @ 68F with just 1 inversion every 2 minute with good results at EI 320 and 800. For pushing to 1600 and 3200, Photo.net has lots of good info on pushing Tri-X using HC-110 using higher dilutions and semi-stand development. The B&W Film & Processing forum folks on PN are extremely nice and knowledgable. For FP4+, I've used HC-110 (B) and Rodinal 1:50 with good results, but for some odd reason couldn't get a good result out of (H). Lately, I've been (lazily) experimenting with FP4+ and Delta 100 in Acutol. So far FP4+ in Acutol seems easily as sharp as Rodinal with slightly less prominent grain. The main documented benefit of Acutol vs. Rodinal is better film speed, but I haven't personally done any side- by-side comparisons.
