Actually my wife has a great picture (she is a commercial/studio photographer) of a white coffe cup lit from the left with a 10 cc blue gel, and the right with a 10 cc yellow gel. The shadow on the right is yellow, and the left blue, but where the two lights overlap on the cup it is abolutely white.
