RE: [Digital BW] Re: The Epson R1800 is the replacement for the 2100/2200

2005-06-01 by Scott West

Here's the reply that I got back from Epson when I asked about the statement
on Amazon's web site about the R1800 being discontinued. I would have used
"Fortunately" instead of "Unfortunately"!

"Thank you for contacting the Epson Connection.

Unfortunately the statement on the Amazon.com website is incorrect. The
R1800 is not being discontinued.

If you require further assistance with this particular issue, please ensure
all of our previous correspondence is contained in your reply, so we can
better track the history of this issue.

If you have a different technical support issue, please submit another
E-form via our website (http://www.epson.com), and we will respond in a
timely manner. Thank you again for contacting Epson.

I reviewed the Epson site. There is no mention of this new printer being
discontinued. It appears to be in stock in many places. I have been
considering adding this printer to my workflow. I have been very impressed
by the build quality. I would not want to purchase and have a major price
drop in two weeks. Are you sure that Amazon is not making one of the many
mistakes that they are so famous for over the years?
