I will get to that but not until I have profiled a few "photo" papers. Personally, I don't expect much improvement on matte paper. A (reported) dMax increase from 1.6 to 1.7 is just rounding error in my book and the 2100 already had 2880dpi. Epson is really close to nailing the traditional print look - expect more on the paper front. Joseph Holmes said he was getting 2.45 dMax on Premium Luster. I haven't tried Luster yet (it doesn't come up as a paper choice - it's greyed out) but I don't know how to tweak the 4800 above its standard settings. Perhaps someone with a 4000 can point me in the right direction. The only variable I can see that might be the one to change is "colour density".
