I have no doubt that matte black ink will simply rub off "photo" paper. But remember that only black ink is used when switching inks - although I haven't quite got my head around what the changing cartridges do (they go into the C, M and Y slots which sit next to the K ink and are inserted without a K cartridge). I suspect that when the ink is drained from the lines, the K ink goes into the maintenance tank whereas the other three colors are drained into the changing cartridges. Quite what one does with them then is beyond me at this stage.
