I have no doubt that matte black ink will simply rub off "photo" paper. But
remember that only black ink is used when switching inks - although I
haven't quite got my head around what the changing cartridges do (they go
into the C, M and Y slots which sit next to the K ink and are inserted
without a K cartridge). I suspect that when the ink is drained from the
lines, the K ink goes into the maintenance tank whereas the other three
colors are drained into the changing cartridges. Quite what one does with
them then is beyond me at this stage. I assume they can be used for printing
and hence the ink is not wasted but I don't know for sure yet.
