Qimage is Windows only.  Here is how it works

You may be able to achieve the same thing in PS by using roll banner mode,
and stacking images <44" long side-by-side with no margins.  Never tried it;
I have Qimage.

I don't print panos or roll paper but I have read on the Qimage Yahoo group
that somehow Qimage allows you to get past the 44 inch limit.

You might want to post your question on the Yahoo group Qimage and see if
someone there can help you.
