USM is just another tool to be used > and abused. > ;-) Agreed, but before believing you NEED to sharpen, you might want to find out why, and it may be simply your cheapo FooYuck 16-340 f2.8 zoom, bad focus, bad exposure or bad development...as in your images on the film ARE fuzzy in the first place! I think also that scanned images give people the ability to REALLY zoom in on them, and see larger than typically viewed images... Regards, Austin
