nik sharpener pro

2005-06-20 by Stephen Kobrin

I upgraded to Nik Sharpener Pro 2.0 and there do seem to be some marked
improvements. However, one of the reasons I upgraded was to get 16 bit
capability. At this point, 2.0 only works with 16 bit RGB files; if you
have a 16 bit grayscale file the option is still grayed out in the
filter menu. Tech support said that they are working on the problem.

Additionally, it is not clear to me that the new "smart sharpen" in CS2
works as well with grayscale files as it does with RGB. I have been
very pleased with the results when I sharpen a RGB file, but
disappointed when I try smart sharpen on grayscale. Am I imagining
things or has anyone else had the same experience.\?
