Digital BW, The Print

Hello,
I use QTR on a 2100 with UltraChromes. I also use an HP7660.

I have often used the HP for portraits because of the better density, but generally prefer the 2100 because of the neutral BW I can achieve.

I remain unhappy, however, with the UC/QTR black density and wondered if there is a way to improve this. Do I just have to accept this as a characteristic of this generation of UltraChromes?
