My experience: * using the supplied ICC profiles yields B&W with a rich, chocolate tone. While not neutral, it is quite pleasing * using a custom-made ICC profile yields dead-neutral B&W with no perceptible colour shifts While with colour the R800 struggles with subtle skin tones and browns, its B&W performance is just fine for my purposes. Suggestions: 1. download the R1800 (yes, 1800) profiles from the US web site and try those. They are apparently newer than the R800 ones and, since the printers are near identical, work fine. 2. pay for custom profiles. --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "percusguy" <percusguy@y...> wrote: > I have owned this printer for about 6 months. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
