Yes, I recommend bulk ink and re-filling. See http://www.inksupply.com/c82refill.cfm. The syringes, needles, etc. you need are more clearly outlined at http://www.inksupply.com/spongless_carts.cfm, which is focused, however, on the 1280. I recommend some extras of chips, carts, syringes and needles. Expect ink in the sink and on the hands (or wear gloves). Plastic laundry sinks will stain so bad you'll never get them clean.
