Pebble Beach 17 Mile Drive has some nice spots, but it costs money. The Lone
Cypress is a famous image, but it's also their trade mark, so they chase you
down and shoot you if you publish an image of it.

The Bixby Bridge on route 1 is a popular subject. Just north of it on the
water side is a restaurant or inn with a long driveway that's a good vantage
point. Also, to its north there's a graded dirt road heading up the canyon
that gives a good view of it from the other side.

Further to the south, the terrain levels out, and the ocean views are wider,
even though they're still rocky.

The Hearst Castle at San Simeon is pretty spectacular, if you feel like
taking a tour, but I think you need reservations.

The village of Cambria is fairly cute.

Further south, Cayucos and Morro Bay are nice towns. Right in Morro Bay,
there's a state park and a road up to the top of the hill which has a nice
view.
