Digital BW, The Print

I recommend you buy a copy of the paperback "Bicycling the Pacific
Coast" by Kirkendall & Spring. Even if you're going by auto. It will
direct by down the coast by many back roads that will take you by many
places that most miss. Plus, it is incredibly informative. It's the
standard guide book for almost all bicycle tourists. BTW, Kirkendall's
"day job" is a photographer. 

I live in FL but have bicycled from San Francsico to Santa Barbara
three times, always by myself. It's great. And don't let your
photography get in the way of a great trip. 

One more thought, if there is any way you can take the Amtrak Coast
Starlight back from Santa Barbara, DO IT. It's almost as good as the
drive down.
