Yikes! I was trying to keep it simple, but you may be on to something (and I know you are THE expert!) I was planning on buying the pre-filled carts first to see which tones I liked and then later fill them myself, but maybe I'll jump right in. Yes, I've read about how to swap out the carts, and it doesn't sound too difficult. I have installed several CIS units and had some of the dreaded 'red light' problems, faulty chips, etc., and I did survive it all, so I should be up to filling my own carts!!
